The biggest "wrong message" that I know that parents send kids is telling them to say no to drugs and then turning around and putting them on drugs at the first sign of something being wrong with them.

Ideaman stole my answer lol. Very well put. Of course it is better to be able to talk things out with someone, war for the United States has always been a last resort. I'm proud of our country and our military. We have to stand up and fight if need be for the right to be a free people. I blame the peacenicks and organizations like the ACLU for prolonging this war. We need to win it and come home. But the military today is made to fight a politically correct war and that just doesn't cut it. These terrorists want to kill you and me no talking is going to change that. By prolonging the war more folks will die unnecessarily To stop this war we need to crush this enemy take the fight out of them. Let our military do it's job and stop wringing your hands at how terrible we treat these poor misunderstood radicals. That's the way I explain it to my two kids and they understand. Oh by the way, There seems to be a movement to feminize men going on. Darn I forgot her name but this pretty well know lady psychiatrist who is not married said on the radio that she will not date a man who p's standing up. lol

Think again. Should we send the message that killing is acceptable? And attacking Iraq was not a form of national defense. It was a form of self-justification and misleading information.
Bush had my support after 9/11, even after he attacked Afghanistan. But it is sheer idiocy to incite two wars at once, even if one is justified, while the other is not.
Bush gave us soooo many reasons for attacking Iraq. And then slowly retracked every statement he made.
He said that Iraq had ties to the WTC incident. Then he said that Saddam had no ties to Osama. Then he said that we attacked because of WMDs. Now they are saying that there were no WMDs. So he says that we attacked because of the way Saddam treated the Kurds. Why didn't we attack in 1983, the first time that Saddam gassed the Kurds...oh yeah, because we were paying for Saddam to gas the Kurds.
My father is a liberal, and he fought in Vietnam. My uncle is a liberal, and just retired a brigadier general...he was in special forces in Vietnam. Kerry (and NO I don't like him) is a liberal, and HE went to Vietnam...unlike certain presidents that used "campaigns" to accidently forget that he was in the armed services...

My father was a veteran of two wars, with a chest full of ribbons and medals.
Our outrage is not that our troops are fighting terrorists, but that they are fighting the wrong terroists for the wrong reasons. Iraq was never a threat to us. After they threatened Kuait our military stomped them flat.
There WERE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
When we had Osama pinned down in afganistan, the CIA on the ground there called for a Ranger strike. Bush sent the Rangers to Iraq.
Would I wan't my sons in the military? No, Im sorry to say not This military, and not this President.
I taught my sons to think for themselves, just as my father taught me.
I would feel better frankly if the National Guard was guarding the nation again and not fighting Bush's Stupid (For Profit) war.
The number of civilian contractors in Iraq is equal if not exceeding the number of soldiers we have there. Please read Imperial Life in the Emerald City. Then you might begin to understand how our tax dollars are being spent. Also look into the elaborate Court built in Git Mo, complete with a restraunt.
I think my message to my kids is a good one, The smart never follow the Stupid.

Absolutely, and not just about national defense. They are being lied to about sexuality, the environment, American history, religion, 'diversity', reality, guns, war, politics, torture, patriotism, respect, honor, truth. There is too much to list here. You are right about liberals. Fortunately, less than one third of Americans are liberals. Chicken littles all.

For this reason we discuss world and national events at the dinner table. We ask our kids (ages 21,20,17 and 15) opinions and tell them ours. We want them to be aware of the vital importance and honor of the military, past, present and future.

We're sending the message, "Even if terrorist extremists say they want to kill you, all they really want is a hug and some money." That's fine for abandoned puppies and kittens, but it doesn't work that way with people.
They've been trained since birth to hate you. They've had it beaten into their heads that their entire existence has to be dedicated to killing you. They will die with a smile on their face just knowing they killed one non-Muslim.
If we manage to keep terrorism at bay long enough for our children to still grow up in a free country, that's the message we're sending.

Most of us would prefer if our kids and then their kids don't have to continue fighting this war. Send your own off to battle.

Liberals do not want to not have a military anymore.
They just want to have a few other means of action as well.
