The maximum really depends on the computer, Some computers could support hundreds of forms, some cannot. Also you've got to ask yourself:

1. do you really require all these forms?
2. How on earth are you going to fit them into a screen?

Ignoring the issue of the end-user's computer and its capabilities, from the point of view of programming, there's basically no limit to the number of MDI (child) forms you can create. I assume that you'll create them on-the-fly during program operation and store them in a collection (as opposed to some fixed-size array).
