*sigh* classic mistake a lot of women make... you took something away from him, not on purpose but you crossed the line here.. a man is a man..... hard to explain, but this ego thing men have is a realy big part of them.. they are the HE MEN and it is their job to find the job, keep it, bring home the bacon etc..... talk to him and tell him you did not mean to hurt him or make him feel small or less of a man, but that you just wanted to help him like he is there to help you... explain to him that you felt you were helping but that if it makes him feel bad you understand and that you will back off and let him find his own way, but that you are there if HE feels HE needs you... then hush, kiss him, smile and love him........ God bless

It's pride, pure and simple. I'm sure that when the cave man brought home a wooly mamoth to his woman, his ego was fed by the happiness in his wife's eyes. You have upset an age old order. Now the big, strong, providing-for-his-woman-man, robbed of the hunt, must deal with a deflated ego. Once the added pay starts rolling in, praise him for that. (Listen for the cave man grunt)

"Kaj" has got it: ego. The most delicate part of a man - easily bruised, and subject to severe pain at the slightest touch.

Don't try to understand it. Just accept that there are certain things you just don't do for a man. This is one of them.

However, you can still help him by finding the job and making him think it was HIS idea! That's the great secret that so many women never learn. You've got to trick us guys into thinking that we did it all by ourselves ("big boy!"). Just don't let on that you are tricking us. Let us continue to believe that we are the ones in control.

Probably because he feels like he's less of a man when his wife has to find him a job. I'm sure he felt as if his pride was hurt.

either he didn't like the job you got him or he just didn't feel like working at all.Maybe he got comfortable and lazy from being unemployed.Or... maybe he did want to get a job for himself instead of you doing it.
