Hmm, now that's a hard one, really, especially since you've provided very little detail. Hehe, as a girl, I will try my best to answer, though I must say beforehand that I can't give you an exact one.
Well, it really depends on the girl and the circumstances in which she said it. Was she laughing or saying it in a joking tone? Is she an outgoing person in general, even, does she have a boyfriend? 0.o If it's either one of those, well.. I suggest shying away from asking her out.
But first one thing is straight, if she says you're cute, that means she must like you in some way. Looks-wise, or your personality. This could mean one or two things: a) that she likes you and maybe wants you to ask her out or b) she just thinks you're a cute guy, and just wants to be friends.
