Why is it that a woman can give and give the man a chance to straighten up...?

but he doesn't listen to her or do right by her so eventually she leaves. Then after the relationship fails and they move on, he tells her how much he wishes he would have treated her right etc. Why do men do that? And why feel like doing the right thing after she's gone?

Well MEN Are Like Babies-Truely. You Need To Take Care Of Them..They're Immature And At Times They Can Be Very Selfish Because It's In Their Blood. But Sometimes This Is Because The Ladies Allows It To Happen. And In A Man's Head...He's Thinking There's Plenty Of Other Women...And There's Alot That Would Fall For Them. But Out Of All Those Women There's Only One That He Will Truely Love. Young Men Needs to Explore. It's Not Because They Don't Like You. They're Men. We're Women. We're Suppose To Lead Them To The Right Path. You Can Be Going Out With A Boy Since You Was 12 And Now Yawl Are 18. You Have To Know That He's Thinking Of Experiencing Someone Else. You Can Be Whoever. He Still Would Like To Take A Risk And See The Other Side Of The World. As Women We Need to Understand Their Situations. It's Selfish But At That Stage They Don't Understand. If A Man Breaks The Relationship To Go Find Something New And You Know That Yawl Relationship Means Alot To Him Then He's More Likely to Come Back. And When He Does Don't Except Him Back Just Yet. Make Him Work Hard Again To Build What Yawl Once Had And Make It A Challenge. Don't Make It Easy Cause Then He Gonna Get Full Of Himself And Go Do It Again. As A Woman If You Really Love Your Man You Gonna Stick By Him... Take The Hurt And Never Does What He Does. Cause He's Gonna Hate You Forever. Break It Off First Before You Do Anything. Don't Stick With Him To Get Him Back. Payback In This Case Ain't Sweet Sometimes. That's If You Wanna Give Him Something Good To Remember. Because Still being With The Man And You Cheat-Then He's Morely Likely to Meet Someone Else And Give All His Love To That Person. Whereby You Could've Been His ONE&ONLY Some Day. Some Men Mature Faster Than Others. Some Men Wanna Get Marry And Settle Down With One Woman Others Don't. So Yeaa Study One And Really Observe.

1) Man is a lazy animal (generally). Now, that goes for women too but we're talking about men here.
2) Change is hard to do. We're talking about change of attitudes and habits, so that's really hard. He's gonna really want to do it. Therefore, give him a reason (a nice one).
3) If he's comfortable in the relationship, why change?
4) Her idea of "right" may not be his.
5) The way she's telling him to do right may not be the way that works for him. ie, if somebody simply said, "stop buying so many shoes" would that work?
6) After she leaves, he may genuinely miss her and may want her back.
7) She hurt his ego, so this may be a ploy.
8) Keep him wanting to keep him interested. ie don't give in so soon in a relationship, keep things fresh (although he's got to contribute to the relationship too)
9) Men know women give in, so a bit of groveling, some puppy eyes, nice things and it's back in the sack.
Corollary: Women - stop letting yourself be treated like that!

I think a lot of men don't believe the woman will really leave until she is gone. I'm going thru this now. I had one foot out the door and NOW my husband wants to act right, after more than a year of heartache. You would think he would have understood when i said i'm hanging by a thread...but no. Until i gave him a small dose of his own medicine and he thought i might find someone else, then he acts like he wants to change and is surprised that i am skeptical.

Because the saying you don't know what you have until it's gone. Males don't realize what a great gal they have until the girl leaves him and he realizes that other men could be asking her out and his chances with her are absolute zero. It's just like one of the many things that are added onto your "big mistakes in life list."

I think it's that fear that your man is going to do the right thing and straighten up after you give up that keeps us in those stupid relationships in the first place. We don't want them to be better for somebody else. We put all the time in on him and we want to reep the benefits but it don't work out that way.

Because the women they are with lay down the ground rules and then forgive them over and over again and the men realize there are no consequences for their bad behavior. Why change bad behavior when there are no consequences?

because the man assumed the woman would keep taking it but she didn't, and after she's gone the man misses her so bad that he can't stand it and must beg her back, it's a control issue
