There is no such thing as 'inactive volcano' the correct words are active volcano, dormant volcano and extinct volcano.
Active volcano is one which is erupting.
A dormant volcano is one which is not currently erupting, but is believed to still be capable of erupting.
This contrasts with an extinct volcano, where it is believed that no future eruptions will occur.

An active volcano is scientifically proven to be able of spewing lava, or simply erupting. An inactive volcano normally stays inactive for about 10 more years before it dies.

It's a volcano that is not doing anything except sitting there looking purdy
no lava - no smoke, no molten rock, no swelling - NUTTIN'
Watch it - however - it's still a volcano and depending on the geological situation of the area (tactonic plates moving and all that) it could become active again.

Inactive volacano is the " Inactive " volcano which gives out no lava. It is analogus to " Active ' volcano which gives out lava in/after certain interval of time.

an inactive volcano is a volcano that is not actice. It doesn't produce smoke, lava,any of that stuff. It is basically a volano that is like a mountain that use to have lave come out of it.
