Shining shoes hands down. You can charge 3 dollars for a pair of shoes and 5 dollars for a pair of boots. The price is lower than the airport shoe shine guys and makes it sound like a great deal. You wouldn't believe how many business men/women like to have their shoes shined, and, since they wear shoes everyday, they need to be shined around once a week. Once you get a routine down, it goes very fast and always takes a lot less time than mowing lawns or babysitting. I always just took the shoes home that day and brought them back the next, then scheduled times when I could pick their shoes up again. It's a fabulous way to make money if you can find lots of business clients.

Good luck!

Chores for neighbors, where your parents are continuously aware of where you are and what you are doing. Yard work is a great one, shoveling snow is another. These can use some definite manual work but don't require you to be of age, to have a resume, or any real qualifications.

For a girl, babysitting is always the best way. For a boy you can offer to walk people's dogs for them, rake their yard, or clean their car. Good luck!

Mowing lawns, charge a lot, I would pay good money to have someone else do it. Babysitting, but this is really hard.
