I think life is meant to be a journey and we are meant to enjoy it, but life and the world get in the way and make it hard. Some people are dark souls born to cause trouble, spread negative energy and chaos, for the rest of the world. When these souls don't want to do that and actually want to be light and positive, it causes conflict. Their lives/journeys were already set up to be full of negativity. They need to overcome the beginning. Some are very happy living very dark lives, others fight to break the cycle.
Don't hate your life, try to break the cycle and change the dark to light. Leave the life that is so dark behind and move somewhere new and start your life over. You may have to leave people behind to do this, people who support and encourage the dark negativity. If under 18 wait. But focus on changing your life.

Jace, sorry to answer this question when I don't really have an answer, but you answered my question about law school in Laramie, and I would love to talk to you some more. Please e-mail me (you can do it through my profile).

As far as your question, I think that everyone should be able to love themselves and their life. Some people spend so long thinking that they hate their lives that they believe that is the only way to feel, but I don't think that is how they are supposed to feel.

What do you mean "supposed to hate their life"? There are definitely people who hate their lives. This is not the same as depression, but that's another issue.
