I have an alienware computer on standby and waiting to order that is about $4,000. I don't know anything about the guts of a computer and I'm lost with too many options for gaming computers. Should I get my Alienware computer or another brand that is only for gaming (not like the run-of-the-mill all around computers)? My friend had told me about newegg.com and I've checked it out. I have NO clue what most of the components mean. I will mainly use it for World of Warcraft anf Guild Wars. Some of the specs are: NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard, Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz 2MB Cache 1066MHz FSB, 1GB DDR2 Performance SDRAM at 800MHz - 2 x 512MB, Extreme Performance (RAID 0) - 500GB (2 x 250GB) Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 2 x 8MB Cache, Additional Storage Drive - 500GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 16MB Cache, 768MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800 GTX, and Ageia PhysX Processing Unit w/ 128MB GDDR3. If that helps out any, please tell me. I would like to find a great gaming comp for cheap $.

dont get alienware - they are kinda overpriced and their customer service sucks - it sucked before they were bought out by Dell - now it REALLY sucks.

Get rid of the Aegia Phyx card - that was touted and the biggest disappointment of 2006 - only 2 games support it and it doesnt do much.

your video card is an excellent choice - the best

Bump up your CPU to the QX6650 (coming out next week) it is a Core 2 SDuo 6600 x 2 (quad core ) for $550.

And you need AT LEAST 2 gigs of RAM - When going to Vista get 4 Gigs.

Your HDD are good - but newegg.com is the best hardware site on the net .

Your mobo chipset is excellent - you did good - for the most part

Your RAM is good - just get rid of the PysX card.

You can buy the same hardware for about 60% of that price....Alienware isnt what they used to be ...

You want Quality - ????

GET FALCON NORTHWEST

AlienWare is not a bad option but with the same money i would get a Falcon Nothwest or a Voodoo pc. I would get rid of the Ageia PhysX unit and increase your RAM to 2GB. IF you want a somewhat similar performance pc with a cheaper price, get a Dell XPS.

lots! $one thousand is the candy spot for only the tower. If that $one thousand includes the reveal screen, keyboard, and so on then your concepts are somewhat greater limited. you will have the money for a card like the GTX 560ti or Radeon 6950 with that variety of funds. The Intel center i5-2500k is the final processor you could positioned right into a gaming laptop. some human beings want to think of the middle i7-2600k is the processor to purchase for a extreme end rig even yet it performs comparable to a 2500K in gaming. 4gb of RAM is sufficient. 8gb is a mind-blowing fee.

There are some definate holes in that set up, some parts are overkill, while other parts are not good enough. I was going to email you but I noticed you don't have that enabled. I would recommend going to cyberpowerpc.com, you can get a better deal. As for specific parts, that is why I wanted to email so I could communicate back and forth with you, my email is in my profile.

That ALienware cost's alot for not very good thing's. If your only going to play WoW or GW, then you can get a computer for about $1000-1500 easy. Since these game's don't require that much graphic's.

if you know someone who can put a computer together and help yo upick out the parts. then building your own is way cheaper. dont get me wrong alien is a great computer. but your paying for the name. I jsut built my own computer and it ran me $1500. but if you dont know how to build one and have no one to help you and dont mind spending $4000 then buy the alien/.

My sister has an XPS notebook and she loves it.
