as to why you are still looking for one. They seem not to realize that it is a big deal, who delivers your baby.. and I find that I go into a new doctor kinda defending myself. And the doctor doesn't seem to react well to my innocent explaination... now I am going to see a highly recommended doctor for prenatal and I am nervous. Do I breeze in at 4 months like it is normal not to have a prenatal doctor yet...

I feel like I should offere exuses and dont' know why I feel this way. I am just looking for a doctor that I am comfortable with to deliver my baby and take care of us for the rest of the pregnancy

There's nothing wrong with telling them that you are looking for someone you are comfortable with delivering your baby.

If you don't like the doctor and are not comfortable, you will be miserable and things will not go well for you. You need to enjoy the experience. It only happens a few times in your life.

If the doctor has a problem with you, then you know they aren't fit to be your doctor. Good Luck and I hope you find someone you like soon!

hi-I answered your other post.
I suppose they dont see it as a big deal because you are lucky if your obgyn is the actual doctor delivering for you.
more often than not-you get the on call doctor at the hospital & not the doctor you have been seeing in the office.

if you want someone who is going to be there from beginning to end--you may want to look into a midwife in addition to a prenatal doctor.

I went through this and yes I started off explaining myself.. but then I realized, I was justifying my own insecurity.. I don't owe them any explanation and once I find the right doctor.. those worries will be gone anyway... go in with no explanation.. yes, breeze in like it is normal... because it is normal to want the best for you and your baby

there is absolutely nothing wrong with looking until you find the right one. and you don't owe them an explanation beyond, " i haven't found the right one, yet."

one caution, though. try to pick someone soon. as you get into the last half of your pregnancy, it will become more important that you go to only one office so that all your records will be there. this helps prevent needed testing and treatment from being missed, or administered twice. good luck.

chose who you are comfortable with... I chose a midwife, it is a very good alternative.... they seem to be less judge mental.... You are just trying to do what is right for you and your baby, if they don't understand, than you shouldn't pick them! Don't offer excuses, just tell them what you expect, and what you want from them! If they can't give it then move on... It is a very important decision! Go with your gut! Good Luck, and don't count out midwifes, they are great!

You don't have to make excuses. If he is a good prenatal doctor, you won't be nervous. You should be very comfortable with him.
