I am 26 years old and am going back to school this semster. Wheter or not you, or anyone of any age for that matter, has to take act/sats sometimes just depends on what type of school you go to. Mosy community colleges do not require them. The community college I am going to does not require them, however if you do not have valid act/sat scores on file, you are required to take the placement test in order to determine if you have to take remedial classes or not. I think this is true with most cologes. Now if it is a 4 year university you are going to - most likely all traditional students do have to have to take the act/sat. Wheter or not you as a nontraditional student would have to take them at a 4 year school - just depends on the school. Some schools say if you are 26 or older - no test scores are requied - others do not have this rule, or their rule may vary slightly. My suggestion is just to call the admissions office of the school you are interested in - you don't have to give them any specifics, just call ask for the admissions office then ask. Simple as that. Anyway, hope this helps at least a little.

I am assuming you mean you are older and want to go back to school. You need to either start at a community college or become a student at large, which is taking a few classes and not being admited to the school but then enrolling after you have "proven" yourself. The community college is the traditional route to going back to school. You might just want to call up the University and ask. Explain your situation. They may require a different test instead. Just don't wonder though, gind out and go back.

If you are talking about a "sit in" or a "listener" or "special" student who doesn't receice a grade for the class, then there is no requirement for an ACT or SAT test. If you receive a grade then there is.

I got into a Community College with only a GED, but it's better to get as much education and qualifications that you can afford and that you can qualify for.
