Hi, I am greek and italian, and have family in Athens, Greece and Florence along with Itlay. Big family.. But anyways... I would extremely recommend going to Athens, it's beautiful and very cultural, just like Rome and Paris. Florence is more picturesque.... Very fancy, but a place where people know everyone. They are very friendly there. Greece I also love. And you probablly will too, expecially if you love greek food, it's really cheap for all food their. Especially their lampchops. Their food is almost like ours. But in bigger portions for little money. Very good food and they are very friendly in Greece. And they tend to have parties in the streets with drinking and wine. Amazing life change from the US, where im from. If your gonna go to Greece you should visit Crete, Zackinthose (very tiny island), and Santarini, another beautiful island... Have fun!!!! it's the best place to go...

Florence is much closer is you are going to those cities. If you want to fly out of Rome or Venice, you can be in Athens in an hour. Otherwise, it's a long ferry ride (overnight) and then you will need to catch a bus over to Athens once on the west coast of Greece. I live in Athens and am biased to what it has to offer, but do enjoy when I go to Florence as well which is about 2-3 times a year. Either way, you cant go wrong.

That is a hard question, it all depends how many days you have and what you are looking for. Athens and Florence are beautiful but i wouldn't spend more than 3 days in each. now you are taking Paris, i think one week is not enough , same for Rome. Venice would be covered in 2 days if you don't want to visit any islands nearby. Madrid is also a fun city that needs few days to completely absorb the culture. You would enjoy it whichever way you choose to. Good Luck
