Would a glass of wine make it any better?

What makes me depressed is knowing there are so many people hurting and I have no idea what to do to ease their pain....

That and being broke LOL

And no i tend to wake up with more problems than went to sleep with when add drinks to the mix.

depressed? there are many things that could cause it beginning with just feeling sad, blue or whatever it is called today. it could also be triggered by allergies and/or food intake. remember: you are what you eat. then comes the biggie but that would take a medical doctor & specialists to confirm. your body is not only special but especially balanced with just the right hormones, chemical releases, etc. a mental state of depression might just be caused by a chemical imbalance that is triggered by all sorts of things. depression, by the way, when occuring once & a while, is very common & very human. nobody but a qualified idiot feels up & happy all the time. but when this state of depression lasts longer than 24 hours, starts to affect your eating, sleeping, daily routine, see a doctor. it might also be within your family genes, you know, dna. ask family members for an honest answer. good luck!

My family makes me depressed (My parents got divorced a week before my birthday and I don't like my step- siblings!). I'm not old enough to buy alcohol, but I know that my friends help me feel better.

If wine makes you relax sure...But maybe not to the point of being drunk.I don't think those 2 mix very well.You know depressed and drunk..

hey young one [i think] dont be duped by all these answers. alcohol doesnt cure your depression. examine yourself. see what has happened in the immediate past and far past to see what causes it. analyse it by yourself or get a close friend to help u. dont waste $$ on psychologist/psychiatrist. if need be, write it down and when you analyse you slowly gets the answer not necessarily the total answer. some females get depressed because of their body physical changes. hormonal imbalance/menstrual cycle are contributory. sometimes our childhood - our parents treatment of us - makes us what we are today. we need deeper self-analysis to get out of it. try!
