I think I do. Not that I wouldn't love to find that special someone but I'm a complicated person and hard to get along with at times and I don't think men can handle that. I'm starting to think I was destined to be single. Don't get me wrong-I'll still have many sex partners in my lifetime. Guess I'm just going to die alone. Anyone else feel this way?

Hey, I've been single most of my life (believe me ... marriage is NOT all its cracked up to be ... been there, done that ... had a short disaster of a marriage to a violent, abusive jerk) .. was a Single for a while, did the short disaster of a marriage (kept working all the time), became a Long Term Single Parent, and now ... am an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (and ... I am a Military Retiree too!)

So .. yes, I am enjoying MY status as a single ... and I can DEFINITELY Tell you that I ENJOY being single and having MY HOME to MY SELF .. never again being forced to endure another uncouth, nasty, filthy toxic individual in MY HOME, not having to support financially (or otherwise) someone who REFUSES to put their fair share of work into the relationship, and I do NOT want any sex partners (I can DEFINITELY live withOUT sex -- that is also not all its cracked up to be ...). ONE marriage was enough .. and it is NOT worth MY LIFE to deal with any further complications ....

You know I believe that I had been destined to remain single. I do not see myself getting married. But I believe that things happen beacuse of a purpose. I do not believed in destiny but I do believe that there is a tendency for things to take place. Being single does not have to be bad. I know a lot of people who had been single all their life and are happier that those who get married. Marriage is a source of unhappiness and tribulation.

I don't feel destined to be single. I choose to be single. And I don't need sex to survive. My life is full as it is. If I meet a guy on the same road as myself, I'm open to love and marriage, even if I'm 65 when I get married. I'll have sex when and if I get married.

it's a good question.. you know i didn't as a young woman, but now looking back , I think probably so. Like you, I am rather complicated and maybe I wouldn't have made such a good partner. I just always wanted to find true love and not just settle for someone who would take me, but maybe that's just a fairytale thinking.

It sure feels that way sometimes. I've been single for 7 years. Not even a date. It gets DARN lonely at times.

In response to NH Baritone: even IF we create our own destiny, we can't force someone else to find us attractive or want to be with us. There are two sides to a relationship.

i personally do not beleive in destiny, i think its an excuse. you have to understand that a relationship is a two way street, both people have to be willing to give a little and in some cases give a lot. as long as you are willing to compromise you can make a relationship work. and as for being hrd to get along with we all have our niches which makes every one of us hard to get along with at times, dont stress it, not a big deal.

We create our own destiny, or at least participate in its creation.
