Your dad needs to tutor you on spelling first. Being a good jumper wont land you a career, but being a good speller will help.

Build your Calf muscles
Stair climbing rountine would help
Wear weights on your ankles
get a mini Trameline and practice jumping, which will also biuld the leg muschles
Practice jumping at a stand still for leg strenght also

Get a small trampoline, jump on it 4 about 5-10 mins then get off of it and start jumping jkust on flat ground. You will still feel likew you're on a trampoline so you will be trying to jump high, and it accually does make you jump higher!!

Squats, leg presses, sprinting and anything else that'll work your calves and quads out.
But it takes time.
PS. Grabbing the rim won't make you a good player.
