I had a c-section and my milk didn't come in for 5 days. My son lost a pound, but then he gained it back in the nest couple weeks.

Please keep trying. Talk to a Lactation Consultant. your baby should be able to suck the nipple into the shape he needs. if not, you could get a nipple sheild that will help him latch on. Please talk to a Lactation consultant so that you can continue to give your son his birthright of breastmilk.

You could try pumping. Having inverted nipples really doesn't affect breastfeeding much, since the baby latches on to the areola. Its normal to not have much stuff comming out of your nipples for at least a couple days after the babys born. About 3 to 5 days after you give birth your milk will come in, and then lots will be comming out. Stay well hydrated!!!!

Try pumping your milk using a breast pump to get your milk going.
That is how I started out when I had trouble getting my son to latch and when he did, he bit me hard! LOL
You can buy breast pumps at any baby and maternity stores.
I recommend breastfeeding and pumping your milk often, to increase the milk flow.
I also found that eating oatmeal everyday increased my milk more!

Hope this helps!

You should have been seen by a lactation nurse before leaving the hospital. You should be able to call them at anytime. Or try a local la leche chapter.
