I love shoes as much as everybody else I seem to have an obsession for combat boots/ doc martin boots and wear them all the time with jeans but now it is getting to summer I am now wearing them with my denim shorts as I am only 5"2 and slim and male does it look ok or should I not worry what other people think and wear what I want. Besides life is too short and for the fact that I also hate other types of shoes like trainers. should I just go with the flow or express my own style of fashion?

I live in FL and it's not uncommon to see guys wear boots with shorts when they are working mostly, but at other times too. Not the typical dress, but not that out of the ordinary either. If you like it and are comfortable, do it. Actually, it makes you look more "rugged", instead of like you're out for a jog or casual walk!

My thoughts are that those boots could get kind of hot and sweaty in the summer, making your feet stink like all get-out. My suggestion would be to think about what it is about the boots you like and find something with that same quality that will be more comfy in the summer. Do you like the way they feel? Look? Go to a good guy's shoe store--just take a walk around Dillards or something, and get a feel for all the styles that are out there, because there are tons, and I bet you'll find something right up your fashion alley that you'll love just as much as the combat boots. You might try some shorter boots or clogs, or some rugged sandals. I know doc martin has a whole bunch of diff styles, and if you like their boots you might like one of their other types of shoes.

From a girl's point of view, I'll say that I've never seen a guy of any height wearing combat boots with denim shorts, and if I did I'd probably do a double-take. But that's not as important as you feeling comfortable. And I really can't imagine how sweaty those boots would be in the summer! :) (Here in Texas, at least--I don't know how hot it gets where you live.)

Hope that helps, and good luck!
