I believe the 5th paragraph answers your question about safety.
From the website:
Marketed by Zeneca Public Health in a range of specialist formulations for use by professional pest control operators and Government pest control agencies.
Note: DemonWP is not available in some States. Not because of toxicity but because they do not allow any product which is labeled "professional use only".
The Formulation we offer is designed for roaches and other crawling insect control and is probably used by more Pest Control Operators than any other product.
It contains 35.6% Cypermethrin (pyrethroid) as its active ingredient. It is supplied in a pack of 4 water soluble sachets.
One sachet is placed with 1 gallon of water in a pump-up sprayer and sprayed as per the easy instructions on the pack. 1 Gallon is sufficient to spray a 2000 square foot house inside and around the perimeter.
Keep animals and children away from sprayed area until the product is dry when it becomes completely pet safe, harmless to children and the environment.
We offer a money back guarantee providing you follow our instructions, you will not have Cockroaches in your home for a year. (Maybe Longer)
Demon is a great roach killing product but when used in conjunction with Maxforce roach bait it becomes an unbeatable team and provides a completely roach free environment.
(Or any other insect for that matter.)
DEMON WP delivers proven control of a wide range of pests in less than one hour. In a test of German cockroach control, DEMON WP offers a knockdown time twice as rapid as that of Tempo WP, reaching 100% knockdown at only 25 minutes of continuous exposure.
Especially effective against cockroaches, the active ingredient in DEMON—cypermethrin, an advanced pyrethroid, controls many pest species, including:
German cockroaches, American cockroaches, oriental cockroaches, brown banded cockroaches, and smoky brown cockroaches
Ants
Spiders and scorpions
Flies
Hornets, wasps, and bees
Sowbugs, pillbugs, crickets, silverfish, firebrats, millipedes, centipedes, and sod webworms

I have heard that boric acid powder OR borax powder works when sifted into the crack between the floor and the floor boards or wherever else they are coming into the house from. They don't develop an immunity to it either. I had a yellow jacket problem this summer and a friend advised spraying them as they entered or left the nest with a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent and a quart of water. It worked and I didn't even get stung. I think that they didn't perceive the flowery smell of the detergent as a threat. A couple wasps bumped me, but I just stepped away for a little while. (They die in about twenty to thirty seconds.) Since roaches also breathe through their bodies, detergent and water should work on them too. Unfortunately, you would have a slippery mess to clean up. My mother used to keep water bugs (resemble roaches) from coming up into the basement through the sewers by pouring the bleach water (from soaking white clothes) down the drains. I have heard that bay leaves work too. They object to their smell.

Nope and I live in Florida, the roach capitol of the US. I do not have roaches at all, every month i sprinkle boric acid powder (cheap and available at wal-mart, k-mart )behind appliances, under sinks around the toilet and have had no problems with the pets or my granddaughter. If you are already roach infested and concerned about the kids, bleach, bleach and more bleach. Clean and vacuum behind appliances, under counters and sinks and was or spray with bleach. Vacuum living areas and bedrooms , vac the furniture, move everything, use roach traps. If you have roaches in door frames, literally crawling out of the woodwork, use raid with the skinny little spray nozzle attached to the can or the raid gel, there is not a lot in the tube and is quite expensive if you have a lot of areas to cover, but it really does work.

If you want something that will eliminate your roaches and be safe around small children and pets you should use boric acid powder. It is just as dangerous/safe as table salt if ingested in small quantities. Just sprinkle it around baseboards and in areas where the roaches like to go. They get it on their legs and take it back to their nests so all of the other roaches get a dose. It gives them chemical burns and they die. It also affects their eggs. They cannot develop resistance to it as with other chemical sprays or powders.
You can find it just about everywhere. You can even find it in your local drug stores as it has medicinal uses as well.

never heard of that but here's a remedy I use; I live in a lower level apt. and about 4-5 times during the summer I see a roach in my bathroom.......I read that plain old fashioned bay leaves will keep them from coming back!! yes, bay leaves, that you buy at a spice counter in the grocery store....get the whole leaves; they can't stand the smell!!!!!!! I put them on the outer wall of my bathroom floor and change them about every 2 months or so.of course, you'd place them wherever you've seen them, but usually near drains, pipes, etc....try it!!!!!!!!! Perhaps the children will want to touch them, & this should be discouraged, not being a child expert, don't know how you'd handle this with them...maybe just tell them that touching or playing with them is a no-no. (see, I told you I don't know much about children!! LOL) but anyway, it's safe and certainly worth a try...just remember to get the WHOLE LEAVES........

I have used demon for years and have small children. It dries and last a long time. I am not the best housekeeper in the world and never see a live roach in my home. Unless you have infants putting their mouths in the stuff, you should have no problems. It is odorless and relatively colorless, and extremely effective. My exterminator friend recommended it to me, and said it is one of the best pesticides for roaches, earwigs, silverfish, etc., that can be purchased without a license.
