I think an ultrasound picture in a pretty frame for Valentines day would be cute!
You can add a little 'Be Mine' or something Valentinesy to it

Try to wait until you get your first sonogram and then go buy a card from say Halmark, put a copy of the sonogram into the card and mail it. Act as if nothing is special and when they open their mail, they will have an unexpected and beautiful keepsake surprise. About the upset, I lost 2 people close to me when I was pregnant with my first son. Crying will not hurt the baby however in the event that your dad should pass away and you seem to get depressed, seeing a therapist or having close family support will help. It will not hurt the baby to be stressed! Good Luck, Hope you two are positive! :)

I bought my parents an unexpected gift the first time I got pregnant. Since I was out buying some stuff before my first one was born, I bought them some bibs (to keep on hand FOR THE BABY, of course!) that said "I Love My Grandma" and another that said "I Love My Grandpa"---I got them a congratulations card and wrote in it that they would be needing to keep these on hand for future visits from their new grandchild.

First make sure that you are pregnant by taking the test first at the doctors.
Then tell them.
And if you are indeed pregnant, get a baby themed greeting card/notecard and then write something in there that says "Congratulations grandma and grandpa, we're having a baby!" then after writing in it, MAIL it. So they have a surprise in the mail.

Have you seen the A&W Commercials where they take their parents to the restaraunt and order the grandfather to be a grandpa burger? that was a cute idea, or you could buy your dad a gift that consists of a baby sleeper with a little card that says will I look cute in this? cangrats to you.

Ask your mother casually what was it like when she first found she was pregnant with you, ask her how she explained it to your grandparents, make sure you ask in front of your father. I think it would be more upsetting for your father if you did not tell him.
There is no right or wrong way to announce your pregnancy, just as there is no best time to announce it, when you are ready or can not contain your excitement any longer announce it.
congratulations hope all goes well for you.

yes, i would wait but find out soon moms have a way of telling if your exspecting .you dont want her thinking your keeping it from her.
i think a special way would be send your parents a dozen of flowers pink and blue carnations and pink and blue candy cigars
on the card put, what would you choose if you could choose, boy or girl
then put your well we cant choose yet but you are gonna be grandparents.
or on the card put granny, grandma, mama, nanna, pap, grandpa, papa, or gramps
you get the first choice of what your grandbaby will call you///cigars will say boy and girl
this flower idea is something they will always remember becouse its a surprise just like the baby.
either way im sure they will be excitied....
to be extra sweet (fib if you must) tell them they are the first you told...

So sorry to hear about your dad. A grandchild will be a wonderful gift for him.
When my husband and I found out we were expecting, we announced it to our parents by getting cute baby frames, wrapping them up, and giving it to them, telling them that we would have a picture for them to put in the frame in December :)

i think a cute way to tell them would be to take them to a
basket ball/football/hockey game and at half time or something have the guy come over the loud speaker say something like 'we'd like to say congratulations to grandma and grandpa_____!' and give them their seet number and have them put the camera on them and put them on the big screne. im so sorry about your father. but, congrats on your little one! best of luck to you!
