Had one years ago. Program files appeared on the list, but all were marked disabled. Had to take my PC in for a clean install.

Another way would be to hijack your address book and send messages to everyone, or prevent you from sending mail. They can do whatever the lowlife who wrote it wants it to. Do not open any mail or attachments until you totally trust the sender, be careful when clicking on links, and if you get a message that you have won $1million in the Nigerian lottery, delete it without clicking anything.
