depends in what quality you want to record. for a good video quality it's sufficient for half an hour, for a decent quality it's maybe up to 90 min and for a poor quality up to 3 hrs.
for pictures only in a reasonable quality it's sufficient for 1000 to 2000 pics.

For pictures...yes...1 GB would hold up to about 500 or possibly even more pictures. Video..would probably hold about 6 or 7 hours..so yes it is good for a video/camera.

is huge. Still using a 128mb card and it holds around 200 pics.
