No matter how many blank dvds I put in there, it will eject the dvd and say that it can't use it. When I watch movies on it, it works fine. Am I buying the wrong DVD-RW?

According to the manual
The recorder can record on
DVD-RW Ver. 1.1 /2x
DVD-R Ver 2.0 /4x /8x

Make sure you don't buy any FASTER discs (say, DVD-RW 4x). Check also with PIoneer, they may have a s/w upgarde to read more discs

Can your recorder format the disks? The disks need to be properly formatted. I just got a new VHS/DVD recorder and it asks to format the disk if it needs to be formatted. Have you read the manual to see which dvd disks it will record to? Have you recorded on those disks before? If you have you have to format them again before recording. Or if the disks might be the kind that cannot record again after one recording. I'm not sure. Look at your manual and the type of dvds you have.
