If they open your mail they have 48 hours to report to court to explain why they opened your mail. I don't think you have to worry about them showing up at your home, they could freeze it at the post office!

That appears to be the gist of Bush's "signing statement" attached to the recent postal reform legislation he signed. However, the wording is ambiguous (probably on purpose) and is already under attack by the ACLU, among others. To help fight the radicals who currently occupy the White House and to help defend the civil rights that are guaranteed to you by the first 10 amendments to the constitution, you might want to consider becoming a member of the ACLU. You may not agree with everything they do (as I don't), but you may find you agree with most of it. Their membership ranks have more than doubled since Bush was re-elected. Many people are realizing that if you can't beat them, sue them.

This seems like an egregious violation of civil rights. Whats next? If they suspect you are a terrorist to pat you down randomly on the street?

I can't believe they told us, that means they've already been doing it for years, and the story was about to break, (everybody write Osama Bin Laden on all your envelopes, make them open everything)

We'll probably have to wait a few weeks before that announcement.
