The Mavericks have some unfinished business to take care of from last year. They will win the title this year.

Basketball doesn't work that way. Most sports don't work that way.
That's like saying: The Clippers beat the Spurs (and they did in November), the Spurs beat the Suns therefore the Clippers are the best team in the league. That's like saying for example, the Bobcats beat the top 4 NBA teams in the league so they're the best, even though they lost every other game. You know what I'm saying? Basketball doesn't work that way. PS, the Spurs beat the Mavs too so you can't make that argument either.
What matters is how they do in the playoffs. A few years ago the Pistons had the best record in the league and didn't even get to the finals. So it doesn't matter how you do in the regular season. Your true skills and talent and endurance show in the playoffs. If the Mavs were to lose in the first or second round, their near flawless record wouldn't matter at all.
