I would suggest the BMW.
Ever since Audi bought mercedes, their quality of cars has gone down drastically. My dad has a 2001 S-500 and the re-sale price has already droped more than 100k. No Joke
The Porsche would be my second choice but it is more sport and not quite as comfortable as the BMW
SO i would go for the BMW 6 series and if u can, go for an M6 which is the same but better quality.

The BMW and MB are V8 engines, so the Porsche with its opposed 6 cylinder is probably the most efficient. But when you're spending that much money to lease a car, why is gas mileage a concern?
They all meet federal safety standards, but since the Porsche is rear-engined, the other two cars with engines in front would be better in a front end crash. Convertibles are the worst cars for rollovers because the only protection is the windshield pillar frame. I would guess the MB would be slightly better than the BMW, but BMW's are amazingly well-constructed and protect the passengers very well. You can probably get more data from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.)
Most luxurious would be the MB, with BMW in the #2 slot and Porsche, well, that's a racing car disguised as a daily driver.
If it were my choice, I would take the BMW 650i - I have a 3 series and I would not hesitate to buy another BWM if I was in the market for a new car. The car is well-designed, manufactured to high quality standards and the performance and road handling is excellent. But your father really can't go wrong with any of the three.
Why not rent one of each of the cars for an extended test drive over a weekend? Not sure where you live, but many cities have specialty car rental companies for luxury and performance cars. Or just rent a demo car from each of the dealers for 3 days.
Good luck. Too bad we all don't have your dad's "problem."

Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabrio is really hot car, but the drive is not comfortable. porsche made brilliantly, but i prefer BMW or Mercedes, because they're luxurious sports cars and made as well as Porsche. If you need some interesting and useful information or pictures of these cars, check the website.

BMW 0-100 or 0-60 =5.5
MERC 0-100 or 0-60 =6.5

Porsche NA ( not sure about safety for porsche)
COMFORT
BMW wins

I would say a Porsche Carrera 4S Convertible because it is fuel efficient, safe with its 4wd, and as fast as an bimmer (BMW) It is very close to an Carrera Convertible except for the 4wd.

oh hard question. beleive or not i have the porsche and bmw. i like mercedes but, they don't always last. porsche's are good and i love mine and everything but, it just doesn't have enough room. I would say the 6 series, because it has a lot of room, is very luxirous, and is very fast but not so much as the porsche.
I would go bmw.

I do not think there is a SL550 exists (I could be wrong)
I would buy a three year old SL500, black, my friend just did for 50,000 with 40,000 miles.
You can lease a used car, believe it or not.
It will not depreciate much. You still havea warrantee.
but that is 1/2 off and it is more prestigious than BMW and more comfortable than the Porsche.
I have a SLK 32 and frankly, I love 30 MPG but hate the lack of room. I would get a used SL500.
