i live right near Disney world, so yes, i do know that Disney has theme parks, and makes plenty of money off of that and movies. I was asking how the Disney Channel makes money. I doubt that Disney is running it at a loss just to burn excess cash. I understand that they get good publicity, I'm just wondering why every other station on basic cable has commercials and Disney doesn't.

Disney, which has a lot of viewers under the age of 12, shows parents that this station is clean fun for kids. There aren't any "mishaps" with commericals. Some protective parents don't want their children hearing stuff that is on comericals today.

Disney also owns a lot of companys and stuff. They own two theme parks just in America. There are more around the world. In addtion to that they make merchandise, which children love and buy. They also have their own stores.

So with all the money that they make on the side. The station can stay without any help from commericals.

I can;t imagine Disney turning this into a loss leader, so they must make money somehow.

How much does the cable company pay to have them on the system?
