I bought this computer 2 years ago and I just realized that the computer has an integrated video card on the motherboard itself. Along with that, I just bought a new video card (PCI) and was wondering what the procedure is to install this new video card. Do I need to uninstall the old video card or does the new video card automatically override the integrated video card?

First since the old video is integrated, part of the mother board you cannot physically remove it. But here is what you do, install the new card, and run the set up CD, Windows will probably detect it automatically, and tell the hardware manager to look at the CD for drivers when you get that far. Part two. Once it is all done, click on Start, then Right click on My Computer, and choose Properties from the pop out menu. A block called System Properties will appear, choose the Hardware Tab, then Device Manager. Under Display Adapters, you will see the old and new video card. Right click on the old video card and choose Disable. Turn off the computer, hook your monitor to the new card, start the computer, and enjoy. Cheers

all u gotta do is pop it in, switch the cable, install the drivers then it should be working and u don't need to uninstall ur old video card

Just plug in your PCI card and see what happens. Most of the time you don't need to do anything else.

Disable the intergrated card through device manager under the system icon in the control panel. That should work, if not you may need to disable it in your bios!

put the card in first and the software make sure you plug the monitor in video card when install.
