Yes, because someone may show up late. Also, at multiple screen theaters, the film may be looped to play in more than one theater. The film passes through one projector, then trailed off to another. Therefore it is dependent on it being run.

Yes, they do. I work part-time for a small newspaper, and one of my assignments is to write one movie review a week. I usually head to the theater straight from my other job to catch a late show, and I'm frequently late. I'm also occasionally the only person in the theater, but the movie is still running whether anyone is there or not.

I watched a movie on Halloween with my boyfriend once, and we were the only two people in the theater. It was kinda creepy. I'm sure they would've still shown the movie if no one bought a ticket.

yes, I bought a ticket 20 minutes late to a movie just last week, and when I went in it was running and I was the only one there!

Yes, because someone might buy a ticket to watch it while it's in progress.

I doubt it, since it costs money to keep the theater lights on and to run the movie equipment.

I have been told that they do. Now if a big storm hits like just hit us here in Colorado they would close up shop & send everybody home. I hear that's what they did the Wed. before Christmas. Our whole state was hit by the storm.

No, showing a movie in a theatre is a risk in hopes that they can gain money if people show up. If no one shows up, they will lose money.

There probably give it a certain time, but will take it out if that happens. Just like a television show, if it has low ratings, it's going to be dropped.
