I understand that the team went 13-3 this season, but:
1) Rex Grossman is HORRIBLE. He completed more passes to Green Bay in the final game than he did his own team. Folks, this isn't a slump. The term slump implies that things will get better. Things are only getting worse for Grossman.
2) The Defense is playing HORRIBLY. Yes, they were amazing in the first part of the season. Over the last 4 games of the season, they have given up over 27 points per game (including to Tampa Bay). There is no way that both the Bears offense and defense can struggle as much as they have as late and expect to win.
3) But they went 13 and 3!!! The Bears have the WEAKEST strength of schedule of any of the teams currently in the playoffs. I think they only beat 2 teams with winning schedules, and they should have gotten killed by the Cardinals.
So Bears fans, what gives? Why are you guys so confident about winning the big one this year?

Again: I am neither from Detroit, nor do I cheer for the Lions.
I am from Philadelphia and cheer for the Birds.

The asker is quite possibly the smartest female football fan in the history of the game. Not only is she a woman but she's smarter than the majority of the Bears fanboys who think they're going all the way.

3. The schedule of who each team plays every year is made out 8 years in advance so that each team in the NFL will play each other at least once in the time frame. It just so happened to be that this year, the BEARS had the weakest schedule this season. Look at Tampa Bay, they won their division last year and look how they finished this season. Get off of the "easy schedule" issue. They still have to play the games and if you think that these guys are going out there to lay down for any other team, just look at some of the upsets that happened this season.
2. I must admit that the defense has struggled some in recent weeks but if you were to take 2 of your best defensive lineman out not to mention your best DB on the team and see how they look. Besides, Do you think that any team wants to show all of their denfense schemes in the last few weeks going into the playoffs? NO! They don't!!! If you were trying to win the super bowl, a poker game, or any game/contest, would you show your oppentents something new/different that they haven't seen before on tape before you play them? NO, YOU WOULDN'T!!!
1. Rex has played somewhat bad here lately but he gives the BEARS the best chance to win any/all games includeing the SUPER BOWL. Who would have thought that Trent Dilfer would have a ring before Peyton Manning? He has started 24 games in his career and has better numbers then Peyton Manning or Carson Palmer did in their first full season as a starter.
That's why I think the BEARS are going to win it all this season. They still have a lot to prove to the nation this season.

Bears think that being the #1 seed actually means something. Remember, the Eagles lost 3 straight NFC Championship games, twice as the #1 seed, before finally getting to the Super Bowl two years ago.
Bears might not even win next week. I see the NFC Championship game being played in Philadelphia in 2 weeks. Go Birds!

Boy you seem to have some personal issues that are not going to be dealt with on Yahoo Answers. I know a good therapist here in Detroit that may be able help.
My advise, shutayourtrap, watch the playoffs and if you are right then poke fun of Da Chicagoans. But as a life long Detroiter, I warn you, leave sleeping bears alone or they will bite your petootie.

As far as making, they are in the NFC. However, if the Eagles stay hot they have a shot. Anything can happen in one game, and any team can have a great game (except apparenlty the Raiders right now). Now winning the whole thing, I think is crazy. The AFC is just far more talented. Their defense is fading, but they could make it to the Superbowl, but I really don't think they could win it.

I think there is no such place named Greenbay. The Packers are from Green Bay. And yes, as you pointed out - "Some people I know that are Bears fans are rooting for Greenbay because they represent the NFC devision." So, you CAN be Bears fan and etc., etc. Finally - "...it goes against the ethics of being a Bears fan." Do you have a list of Bears Fan Ethics?. Are these people you know unethical?

They play in the NFC.
They look like the strongest team in NFC.
Eagles are going to carry the NFC with their surprising momentum
but the Bears arent too delusional, theyre no more flawed than any other team in the NFC
