Start at Alice Springs with a short tour of the red centre - Uluhru, the Olgas, etc. Then fly south to somewhere like Ballarat, or any of the Victorian Gold Rush Towns, maybe along to Benalla, where Ned Kelly hung out, then continue south till you hit the Great Ocean Rd. Takes about 3 days to drive along, stop at the 12 apostles, Porty Fairy, Lorne, those pretty seaside towns. The GOR ends in Melbourne, spend a couple of days there, check out the cake shops in Acland St, have the special lunch at The Brasserie on the Yarra River (in the Crown Casino building) then fly to Sydney and spend whatever time you have left over there. If you had more time, you could do more, but once you've been, you'll be back ! Don't bother with Canberra, it's boring. Brisbane and Adelaide are both OK, but Melbourne and Sydney are the best cities.

Great barrier Reef, Sydney, Melbourne, where ever you go it is all good. If you want you can go to my web site "gilesmurphy.com" Were I kept a journal as I was travelling. You can see the pictures of where I went and make up your mind from there. But I also suggest the rough guide to Australia. I used these books when I travelled the world and they were really good.

In 3 weeks you have in all danger have been given time to circulate to as much as a optimal of 5 distinctive places. even however Perth is a gorgeous place to circulate to via fact the others suggested it quite is this style of long distance to return and forth that i think of you're greater beneficial off to circulate to different aspects. you have no longer suggested what time of year you're coming. i could advise: Sydney Gold Coast Uluru Tasmania in case you come again in our summer season, or Cairns in case you come again in our wintry climate Melbourne (no longer in that order) in case you will Cairns then fly there, do no longer return and forth the full way by applying bus/automobile, it quite is plenty too long a visit. return and forth by applying highway from Sydney to/from Gold Coast or Melbourne in case you want to contain a highway trip - the NSW and SE Queensland coast is the excellent sea coast to locate.

you'd have to visit the great barrier reef. Sydney and Melbourne and maybe take a trek into the desert to see the Opal mines.
