I have searched all over for the polt of this movie.I have found some bad answers; things that Disney would NEVER do!! I found a a few good answers but they were like one word or sentence. I so far know it airs August 17.

Are you talking about High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing?
If so:
During the summer vacations a talent show is organized in a local country club and Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor take part in it.
Also it wont be out until Dec 17 2007

It's possible it might air on Dec. 17th of 2007.... but iIt hasn't been filmed yet. So that date will most likely change. They are still casting for it. It films here in Utah this summer and won't be released until late this year of 2008.
