Why does Raul put the monkey music box on the grave stone? The music box belonged to the Phantom and Raul was trying to keep her away from the Phantom. He places something of the Phantoms at her grave Why?

If you've seen the play, Raoul goes into detail about how often Christine had spoke of the music box, describing it in detail to him. I think as a token of love and commitment to Christine, Raoul bought it for her when the auction happened to sell it after all those years, despite the fact that it had a connection to the Phantom.

I think in the end he realized that Christine really did care for the Phantom. Because she chose Raoul she wasn't able to be with the Phantom. I guess he figured that it would have made her happy to know that she had something that belonged to the Phantom, a man she once had strong feelings for.

i guess he just wanted her to have a little piece of something that she wanted and soemthign that was a big part of her life.
