income tax pisses me off to no extent. the government lies to us about getting rid of it after the war and still expects us to pay it while theyre living in luxury in their penthouse suites and flying in private jets, they can fly coach for all I care! I say down with this injustice, im seriously starting to think about starting an anti income tax lobby group. Those bastards think they can rip off the working man, even after the corporations profit enough off the guys working for them at 10 dollars an hour. I go to school, and i even get income taxed for fucckk sakes! and i dont get all of it back. I say down with income tax, who is with me?

You guys must like working for 4 months of your life to pay the government? I think thats alittle excessive myself. To each's own. but the fact is, is that we were lied to, and thats the troubling part. What's next? By the way im talking about Canada

Basically if 35 % of my cheques get taken from income tax, and 13 % get taken form sales tax, what does that leave me? 52% of my money for my spending pleasures. I wouldnt do that to my fellow canadians if i were incharge.

I agree I hate tax as much as any one else does partically where I come from I is not so much about paying tax but how much we pay.
The government should be giving us more freedom and choice into how we spend our money ie user pays maybe privatisation of some goverment services. the governments should only rely on corparate tax and sales taxes etc most island nations work like this

You make me laugh. I hate paying income taxes too, but if we don't pay income taxes, we'll have to pay some other form of taxes to keep the government running. I agree that our representatives in Washington are a bunch of out-of-touch, overly rich and dependent on contributions from the rich mooches and don't much care about what life is like for the average person. And I don't expect that the change in control of Congress to the Democrats will make any real difference.

But the bulk of government spending is on medicare, social security and the military. And I do expect the government to provide the level of services that we've come to expect. I think the tax rates of the very rich should be higher and loopholes for the rich should be closed. But I don't mind paying my fair share for the services I enjoy that the government provides.

Do you have any idea how the government works, any at all? Politicians themselves are paid a very low wage for the amount of work that they do. The vast majority of them are just independently wealthy.

Also, without an income tax, how would the government get its money? An enormous sales tax perhaps? You'd be bitching about that too. Look. There's only two things that are certain in life: Death and Taxes. Get over it.

Nobody enjoys paying taxes, but part of being an adult is recognizing that we have to make choices. If we are going to be the world policeman and spend more on our military than all the other countries in the world combined, we have to accept the fact that our standard living eventually must be lower than that in other industrialized nations. This year the true Federal budget deficit will be well over half a trillion dollars if you count the cost of the war and borrowing from the social security trust fund (every penny of which came from social security taxes on the wages of working people.). We are the world's largest debtor nation. We can't continue to fund our govenment with borrowing from the Chinese and other foreign countries otherwise they will end up owning us.

Good luck with that. Try this, TERM LIMITS. Every elected office in the country, two terms, then get a job like the rest of us or at least seek another office. We should not have to supply politicians with tax preperation, vehicles or insurance of any kind, if they have to do that on their own they might have a clue what the rest of us have to go through, or without. If you don't pay you taxes they use the IRS to apply the old Roman maxim: "Let them hate us, so long as they fear us!".

do you know that the US is the least taxed wealthy country in the entire world...I think we should be taxed more because we can't afford to fund all the programs that this country needs. Look at Sweden and Norway...they're taxed through the roof and are constantly seen as the best places to live in the world.

do you mean that the U.S. govt wastes a lot of tax revenues?! is that possible?!?!?! that highly-responsible, ethical, infinitely-wise, altruistic group of geniuses would never do such a thing!!! say it isn't so, brother. just have a little more faith in Bush and the rest of the wonderful American govt. your faith will be well-rewarded eventually!!!!!!!
