My parents never married and they are still together 30 years later. Don't stress hun. Go and hug one of the kids.

First things first, I mean no disrespect but if you are comfortable with your situation than why are getting defensive? Are you seeking approval? One thing I've learned is that it is impossible to please everyone.Work on those you truly care about and leave the rest to their own devices This is just an observation.
