Animals have been cloned for research purposes for many years. It is expensive, of course.
They are cloned for use in producing medicines also. For years this was kept secret by the pharmaceutical companies that did it, because they didn't want other companies to know how they produced their drugs. It was a trade secret.
There are probably other trade secrets that haven't come out yet.

on account that human brings first started out making use of in vitro fertilization the left over last blastocytes have only been thrown away. Then we detect a thank you to probably remedy extra than a number of human tragedies and the ultimate wing screams homicide. This debate is largely used to impress the ultimate to existence stream. even with the reality stem cells have not something to do with abortion. asserting its destroying human existence is punctiliously disengenuous, the reality is that it is the only way any of those cells surely get to pass on residing. and that i too reject the very incontrovertible fact that those blastocytes are toddlers. you need to use embryonic stem cells to advance an liver ... you could not turn a toddler right into a liver I respectfully think of that ewaj misidentifies the topic. for the time of in vitro fertilization 5 eggs are faraway from the mum, fertilized, allowed to diversify right into a 4 celled blastocytes them re implanted into the mum separately. the technique creates between a million and four left over 4 cellular blastocytes. As I reported earlier the alternative is between throwing them away or making use of them to attempt to remedy maximum cancers or heart sickness or parkinsons or glaucoma or spinal chord injury. If we wang to communicate the ethics of ivf then great yet no person desires to have that communicate. And lower back you could not turn a toddler right into a heart. So I reject the argument that those are human beings. I do have faith human existence is sacrosanct, it is why no person might desire to might desire to die of alzheimers.

How would that help? The whole purpse for stem cells is to help humans. THis means we need to deal with species that have as close to 46 chromosomes as possible. Dogs have 78 and cats have 38... not very helpful.

cats and dogs have rights also! the reason they are not used for research is becacause animal humane societys such as peta would jump in and it would then be banned just like cloning humans . so what would be the point of wasting time with soemthing you know isnt going to work out.

The point of stem cell research is to use human stem cells to replicate damaged body cells to cure a host of diseases, including several cancers, etc. Dog and cat cells won't work.

A dog has already been cloned and a cow. I think we should do stem cell research, but there would have to be a PERFECT SAFETY CLAUSE in this area...

Well, its not so much whether or not we can use dogs or cats, as the precident that it would set, and then the technology acceptance would spread. Ok, dogs and cats...then sheep, then cows, then monkeys...etc.j
I think that as a race, many believe we are not ready for this from cultural and spirtual perspectives...kinda like the notion of flying saucers, aliens and other life in the universe. :)

First of all there are already way too many cats and dogs that are in need of good and loving homes, and second of all it's wrong to do research on animals.
