I use this to clean a lot of things: peroxide and baking soda! It's home made version of oxi clean. Peroxide is what nurses use to get out blood stains. Also there is a cleaner in a yellow container called Solv-It that you can mix with water that does well. I use that and amonia in my laundry for stains and odors.

Foam carpet shampoo
3C water
3/4C vegetable-based liquid soap (castile)
10 drops peppermint essential oil-
Mix all ingredients in blender. Rub the foam into soiled areas with a damp sponge. Let dry thoroughly & then vacuum.
Make sure you use essential oil for peppermint

No but search under "Heloise's Household Hints." She has 28 different items under carpet cleaning. There's not much that she doesn't have. I have her pamphlet for using baking powder and another one for cleaning with vinegar. They're great! Least expensive ways to clean anything!

If you just need to touch up spots, a good quick cleaning item is windex. Mist on the area and use a white rag to clean the spot up.
