I use regular dish soap and a bottle brush. Then I rinse it out with really hot water.

I've talked with my baby's doctor (at the Cleveland Clinic) about this very thing. Unless there is something wrong with your city's water, washing with soap and water is fine. If you have a dishwasher, that's all you need. If you see soap residue after the dishwasher, all you have to do is rinse.
I asked her why there is all this talk about steam sterilizers and boiling. She said it just goes back to when people didn't trust their local city water.
You should still boil them before the first use, but after that, it's all just extra unnecessary steps.
But if your baby has any special health issues that may require special handling, then consult her doctor.

I used playtex bottles with the drop ins... made it awhole lot easier only having to worry about the outside of the bottle being clean and nipple. I'd probably boil them when there brand new for the 1st time but other then that wash like normal with warm water and dish detergent and a bottle brush. Be sure you wash the nipple throughly and rinse well toO. Preventing Thrush. v:)

Some soap residue can remain if you hand or dishwash your bottles. I always put mine in the dish washer and them boiled the nipples and bottles for 10 minutes in a pot of boiling water. That not only gets rig of any residue but kills any remaining germs left on the bottle. You can never get baby bottles too clean in my oppinion

any kind of dish soap, a bottle brush and hot water will clean them if you leave the milk sitting in them for to long they need a good soaking just rinse them really well under hot water that should get rid of all the soap when your done then sterilize if the babys younger than 3 months old after that you dont need to sterilize them anymore washing them is fine

Wash with antibacterial dish soap, then boil in a big pot. Or use a dishwasher. We used the bottle brushes with regular dish soap, and everything was fine.

With my first babies I always used the steriliser with the MILTON tabs for cleaning.
But by my third I found it so time consuming, I now just use normal dishwasher and then boil them on the stove afterward. They say even if you have a dishwasher the heat from that sterilises the bottles anyway.
