well when u r on a limited budget a pool party is a good idea..if u have a pool or someone that would not mind letting u borrow it. just make sure u don't let the girl have more than 10 friends.
all u need for a pool party is: togs, towel, and u get all the friends to bring somethink they want to share with everyone else.
for food u allready have all the friends bringing somethink so u could add some drinks, pizza is really cheap and some lollies you could even by fish and chips for them all to share.
music really easy just lookin the girls room for hints like does she have lots of cds on the day tell her to bring them do u can listen to them. and any rock ones and ones that have a great tune get to the party going r great. so u have a party that will only cost around maybe $50...hope everything goes great and that i could help :)

Is she getting her driving license? Does she have a automobile to drive either her own or someone else? If so A party theme could be based on this. Music talk to friends of hers and find out what music they are listening to. If a budget is an issue most teenagers love snack food. Chips, dips, maybe pizza. Gift ideals
if she is getting her licenses would be prepaid gas cards, trash containers made for the auto, air fresheners, tape holders for cars,
key holders, and excreta...........

Well, I had this for my 15th. birthday party but I think it would work fine for her 16th. birthday. Find a hotel, not anything fancy or ritzy, but something nice, rent 2 rooms, one for the parents and one for the girls. This is completely simple because there are many things to do, like there's the pool or hanging out in the rooms. Plus, she could even invite boys if she was too embarrassed before and then they could just leave like around 5 or so, when it starts getting dark. Themes, maybe a Hawaiin one, or surfing theme, just find out what she really likes. Look on the internet for good discounted prices for hotels, believe me, they're there. And for the music, ask her friends to bring their own type of music and just bring a boombox or stereo and play all different types of c.d's all day. For food: chips, fruit platter, licorice, buy in bulks at Cosco or that other place, you can but the drinks there too, like Snapple, and Soda's and of course, bottled water. Plus, you can buy the pizza from Cosco and look at that? Shopping all done in one spot!!! Then, when it gets dark, you can rent a bunch of scary movies and watch them, you can prank call people, play trutch or dare, and just gossip!! trust me, she'll totally love it! and I hope this helps you!

Is this a surprise...? If it is NOT, then ask her what she wants! Teens are pretty picky, so they tend to want everything their way, not your way. If it is a surprise birthday, then ask your friend what her daughter likes. Work with that info... that'll definitely answer a lot of the questions you're asking.

Personally, if she's the quieter type or more mature, I'm sure a dinner at a nice restaurant with a few select friends will be just fine. Slightly more upscale places like Pasta Pomodoro are perfect. *shrugs* This way, you'll only have to pay for everyone's food.

If I were 16 again I would love to have an old fasioned slumber party where we would eat pizza, dance, play spin the bottle, twister, then after the boys went home at night, we would drink hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream, play scarry movies, make prank calls, sort of create an old fasioned sweet 16 theme.
