A little too young. She should stick to things like lipgloss and mascara right now. Things that will bring out her natural beauty. Eyeliner is getting a little extream. Maybe a little light blush. Also, she should be shown how to apply it so she doesn't look silly and looks naturally pretty. In Kevin Aucoin's book Making faces he makes up two teenage girls to look radiant using very little make-up. You may want to get this book from your local library and find the page I am talking about and show the children in question how they can make themselves look great with very little make-up. I would say do not let eyeline come into the picture until 15 or so.

No, 11 and 12 is too young. I think a girl should be in high school before she starts wearing make-up. Girls are growing up to soon. Why push it? Be a girl for as long as possible and have fun. Young girls should not have to worry about their looks. It's no wonder so many girls and woman have body image problems and eating disorders.

No definately not. In this country, girls are getting younger and younger for everything. When they start wearing designer clothes, when they start wearing make-up, when they start having boyfriends, having sex, having kids! These kids are having sex, and they don't even understand the risks they are taking..

I think parents should restrict their kids from wearing make-up until atleast high school. I'm tired of seeing little 12 year old girls become hos. It's disappointing, but it's today.

I wish people would just let them be little..

I think if it were done with discretion, and done with a neutral color (brown, tan, charcoal) a 12 year old could pull it off, but no to the 11 year old, one year makes a big difference!

No i do not think so, I feel that there is already a stereotype that follows females that wear make up regardless of their age. Young girls are starting to develop too quickly and wearing make up clouds their vision/outlook on life.

No. There are a lot of pervs hanging around. I have seen 12-13 year old girls at the mall once, sometimes by themselves, with eyeliner, makeup, teeny handkerchief-sized tops, skintight jeans, and I wondered what are their parents thinking!?

I cant see the harm in it as long as its not over board. But I guess it helps them show there personality at that age as well. Its something you cant really control. They either do it with your consent or after they leave your watchful eyes.
