The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) assists persons who want to know how to obtain an assessment of their educational, professional, and occupational credentials by referring them to the appropriate bodies. CICIC does not itself grant equivalencies or assess credentials, nor does it intervene on behalf of individuals or in complaints to PSST. The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) can be contacted at:

It depends what they are...if you have university credentials then contact your local university (they are all online - locate the Registrar or the Dean of Admissions) -- they'll tell you what the rules and requirements for obtaining credits are. If you have diplomas or college certifications then again, locate your nearest local college and talk to someone in Admissions. Most universities and colleges here have staff who are use to dealing with foreign students transferring or beginning their educations in Canada and they will be able to explain the system to you.

If, however, you are already a qualified professional it can be more involved due to the regulatory authorities and professional associations that set the standards for who can work in professional fields. All self-regulating professions have professional associations and a good starting point to get information is their websites. If you are looking to get into a profession I would suggest you take a look there anyway to get an idea of what is required to qualify here.
