M baby is has learned how to crawl andis now trying to pull onto the wall. Today she bumped her head on her toy and her forhead turned red. 2 hours later she tried to stand on the wall and hit her forhead on it really hard. She has a bruise on her forhead that turned red and purple. Just minutes that she falls on her toy piano hitting the same bruise. Its freakin me out. Should she be fine?

She always finds a way everyday to bump her head or fall. Shes bumped it on coffee tables, the crib, wall. She usually cries for 30 secs and gets red marks on her forehead. is this normal? will it cause any future damage. I just cant seem to catch her every fall.

I know how you feel. Thank goodness you don't have my son because he's an accident waiting to happen.

It's totally normal for this to happen. Really, my son has a bruise on his head most of the time! He's very rough and tumble--he doesn't even cry anymore! He started getting bruises when he started crawling and now continues getting them as he's walking.

Just hang in there. Make sure she's okay but try not to make a big fuss or else she'll end up crying over everything! Best of Luck!

relax she will be fine i am a mother of a 6 year old and i watch kids out of my home and everyday i send either the 22 month old or the 1 year old home with a note saying they fell and bumped there heads or buts when a child is learning to crawl or walk they are only focussing on the task at hand not what is around them they are just trying to suceed and as far as catching them on every fall let them fall it teaches them to get up and try it again if she is only crying for a few seconds just look at her and say what happened it you go bump and all will be fine when my daughter was 2 she had so many bruise's that i didn't want to take her to the doctor but i did any way and the doc told me she was fine and it was a sign that she was learning everything she needed to learn and not to worry i know it is easer to say don't worry than it is to do it but if you try to catch her every fall it wont teach her that when the going gets rough try again good luck and relax

I think that's why God made them extra durable when they are so young. Mine bumped heads, and knees and elbows sometimes even teeth, toes once an eye so hard it turned black. They are tough little cookies when they are young, don't try to catch her every fall, she'll learn to take some hard knocks and suck it up! It'll make here a tough girl, not the one on the play ground who cries every time someone bumps into her. I believe Dr. Spock even said not to worry about falls and parent mishaps too much, it builds character. Hang in there, you only have a life time more left to worry. Go rent the movie "Parenthood" by Ron Howard (old one if you have never seen it) Best movie ever about being a parent.

Yes they sure do...But you as a parent has toomake sure
the home is baby safe .That's the least you can do.Why in the world are you going sit there while your baby bumps it's head atleast three times or more" you quoted"?Maybe your baby can't walk cause you got a bunch of useless junk all over the floor.
Invest in a playpen ! Thats what they are there for..;.! No your childs inner creativity wont be harmed in no way.
No child in the whole history of mankind needed toys or junk to learn how to crawl or walk But then again you say yooour "baby"

My daughter is 10 months old and just starting to walk so she is falling every which way and is always bumoing her head. So far I have not been concerned with any of her falls because like your daughter she only cries for a few seconds and everything is fine.. If you are concerned with her next doctor's appointment just mention all the falls and see what he says.. I think god just makes the falls hard on the parents and it doesn't bother the babies because we did it too our parents. Good luck and have fun

You can not catch their every fall. When my son was pulling himself up I bought him a little toy to push/hold himself up on. I also removed all the tables from the living room. Even when the neighbors daughter was learning to walk and pulling herself up, I moved my tables out of the living room. They are bound to fall and get hurt, it is unavoidable. I would suggest picking up her toys quite often just until she gains her bearings. Hey at least she will be a tough little GAL! Keep up the good work mom!

LOL Get used to it, because, yes, they bump their little heads ALL the time. My daughter just learned how to RUN (walking came at nine months) and with every new ability comes more bruises. It's okay if she bumps her head, just keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't pull things down on herself and cover any sharp or pointy corners so she doesn't get seriously hurt.

Oh, that is about as normal as you can get. You have to remember that she's still learning. She's unstable and wobbly. She's not built up her strength all the way. She doesn't have great depth perception yet. As long as she's not showing any signs of lasting damage (inability to focus, lethargy, sudden regression of motor skills, continued crying) she should be just fine. She's going to fall, it's inevitable. Just pad all the sharp corners in your house as best you can and be ready to swoop in with some comfort if she gets upset.

As long as she is not screaming for prolonged periods of time, she should be fine. You, as the parent, are responsible for making your home as safe as possible, which it sounds like you're doing. Get rounded corners, tables that aren't head height, etc. Once she stops falling down, she should be fine...babies tend to fall down a lot!!

i started calling my son bruiser because he could not go more than a week without a bruise on his forehead for the first 6 months he was walking. As long as she doesn't hit it hard enough to cause a concusion she is fine.
