Any of these:
* the wick has burned up,
* the wax has run out,
* the wind blew out the flame,
* or there is suddenly little or no oxygen in the the air. (miners used to use lanterns to gauge the safety of the air in the shafts.)

If the fire just goes out something could have blew it out. If the candle is burned down it means the candles gone. It might be a trick candle, too, because that happened to me before and it was a candle that just went out after a while.

I suppose it could be spirits. I know it sounds far fetched , but try this . The next time you light this candle take a few digital pics of it ,then just before it goes out continue taking pics till it goes out.try to set the camera up for no flash and try not to hold or move camera.Put images on your computer to see them better. compair all photos closely look for "orbs of light" in pics just before candle goes out. Good luck.

It can mean one of three things.

1- Something blew it out; wind, person, etc.
2- The wick ran out.
3- SOMETHING IS HAUNTED1!11!

Take your pick on which one makes the most sense.
