I am llokinfg at the playoff picture, and I see that the Giants made it to the play offs. That means the NFC east have 3 teams in the playoffs, and other conferences have only one, even though there are teams that are 8 and 8. I am not saying they suck, but I think that there is some foul paly here. Someone got paid to assure them a playoff berth. But that is only my oppinion.

I was just wondering how they made it due to the fact that there are 4 teams in the NFC with the same record.

Breaking it down step by step:
The Giants, Packers, Panthers, and Rams all finished with 8-8 records. The first step to consider is head to head sweep--if one team beat all the others or lost to all the others. This didn't happen.
Next step is conference record. The Giants and Packers were 7-5 in the conference, and the Panthers and Rams 6-6, which eliminated the Panthers and Rams.
Now, you go back to head to head for the Giants vs. the Packers, but they didn't play each other. You already know that their conference records are the same.
The step after that is common games record. The Giants and Packers have both played four teams: The Bears, Eagles, Saints, and Seahawks. They both finished 1-4 against this group, the Giants having beaten the Eagles in Week 2 and the Packers beating the Bears in the season finale.
That brings us to strength of victory, which is the combined winning percentage of all teams that each has beaten. The Giants won the tiebreak here by .422 to the Packers' .383. This officially put the Giants into the final Wild Card slot.

It's a tiebreak, they go by who had a better record in head-to-head play between the teams with the same records. The Giants won the tiebreak and, unfortunately, we again have two Mannings quarterbacking in the playoffs...may God have mercy on anyone who has to watch those two clowns

Strength of schedule. Green Bay, had a much weaker schedule and, besides winning themselves, would have had to have 7 or, 8 different things happen to take the tie breaker with the Giants who, if You recall, had an excellent first half of the season before, losing a lot of starters for the season.

They beat the teams that had the same record as them
and the ones that they didnt play that had the same record they had more conference and division wins. Remember they did beat every team in their division at least once.
