YES!!! But there are some very effective treatments that I would advise you to seek out. The first and foremost would be cognative behavioral therapy and medications like xanax or paxil (now pexiva). I know going to a psychaitrist and social worker / therapist may sound disturbing at first, but there are some really effective treatment options available. Medications are only a band-aid solution to this however. The real solution would be therapy. Cognative behavioral therapy teaches you how to manage the anxiety the second you start feeling a panic attack coming on. It also teaches you how to walk yourself through the attack without much disruption to whatever activity you are engaged in. If you have a primary care physician, you may want to ask him / her for a referral to a psychiatrist (for medications) and a therapist ( the majority of therapists out there practice cognative behavioral therapy) and make sure you ask the therapist lots of questions about their experience with anxiety d/o and panic attacks. If you do not have a primary care physician, you can contact your local hospital or even NAMI - nat'l assoc mental illness or something like that. Or contact your insurance company, but be aware that many major plans contract to another company to manage the mental health part of your benefits and authorization may be required. Best of luck to you, with the proper treatment and your effort in that treatment, you will be able to do anything regardless of the panic attacks. I do know first hand how debilitating they can be.

The more you do the job or things that scare you in life (like public speaking - i don't enjoy it!). The easy the task becomes, it's just trying to do the things at your pace, as an employer might push you too hard sometimes but isn't a bad thing also if you can cope. Just take things a day at a time and try not to worry, remember it's only a job, you can always get another. Good Luck

Well, it certainly would not be easy because your performance would be diminished. But, with the help of medication taken as prescribed by your doctor or psychiatrist, you would do fine.
