Smoke/Drink...Yes/No...but I smoke Mary Jane?

Does this make sense to anyone? Ok you don't smoke cigs but isnt Mary Jane still qualified as smoking? This is what i dont understand, could some one clear this up for me?

Because many people don't believe it's the same as smoking cigarettes, etc. They think it's healthier some even think it doesn't cause cancer the way regular cigarettes do.

yeah most people say they don't smoke if they don't smoke cigarettes I guess because smoking pot isn't necessarily something you do every day (or maybe you do idk). people who smoke cigarettes smoke them every day
