you cannot change your steam account name, but you can change your characters name in just the ain menu options of the game.

Are you talking about the original Half Life downloaded on Steam?

You can't change Steam names, but in Half Life and it's expansions you go to Options>Multiplayer. Change everything from there.

name "Playername" and press enter
