Sometimes they should slap the parents, why some people reproduce is beyond me....

In order to make sure the baby can cry. Unfortunately they haven't had a chance to tell if the parents are decent people or not so they have no other reason to slap them.

To help dislodge the mucus from the lungs. The slap gets them to cry and get some breathing going.

I had three children and they have never slapped them although i have slapped my husband during the birth

Three 'reasons' that come to mind - - -
Life is painfull, then you die . . .
Might as well get introduced to this reality, soon as you arrive. . .
Our society is into 'corporal punishment' -
Life is a job - no sleeping allowed during working hours.
Oh . . .
And parents DO get slapped - with the huge BILL, when it's all over.

They don't slap the baby.... that's just for movies and TV

well its usually the parent or guardian that "slaps" the baby...although it is kinda sad that they would do such a thing
