Normal is not the issue. If you are happy with the arrangement then that is all that matters. You are cooking not because you have to, but becuase you want to do something in return or you just enjoy cooking, then that's fine. Wow, to not have to clean up the mess is a big plus, I think! See, it's what works for you. Don't worry about "normal".

It's okay if you say it is okay. You have to decide for yourself if you are comfortable with the arrangement based on your understanding of the roles in a relationship. For example, if you hate to cook, but you don't mind mowing the grass, then I would say you have the wrong arrangement. However, if you don't mind the cooking, and you receive some help on the clean-up, then I think you aren't doing too badly in the deal.

Having someone cook for you every night sounds great but I would have to say this does not sound "normal" to me. This seems more like a business agreement. He does the maintenance on your 3 homes and you cook for him every night. Seem like a fair deal but certainly not "normal".

I guess I'm still stuck in the old school but I remember when not to cook for your man every night was considered abnormal. Men did their part and women did theirs. Neither looked at their part as duty but because they knew their partner appreciated them and respected each others roles in their relationship. My question to you is why are you asking this in a real estate forum ?

Of course not! Who ever heard of a woman cooking dinner for a man every night? There are urban legends out there that allude to this bizarre practice, but I doubt that it ever occurred.

It sounds equal enough to me. But what matters in a relationship is if it's okay with you and the other person. Each couple is different because the two individuals that make them up is going to be different.

Of course it is ok. You boyfriend seem pretty balanced. And life shouldn't be spent in measuring about how much each partner is doing, etc. Just chill, enjoy.

As long as you both think it's fair, it's fine. If you want him to cook part of the time, offer to take up one of his chores in exchange.
