My favorites from 2006 are United 93, Akeelah And The Bee, The Departed, Babel, Thank You For Smoking, and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. Those are the ones I can think of right off hand.

Starting Over (an old romantic comedy) is a favorite from the past. As for this past year... can't think of one I liked all that much, although Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy in Dreamgirls were amazing.
