Aside from the money aspect, if you were a celebrity, could you handle people intruding in on every facet of your life? Do you think famous people like having cameras shoved in their faces, pictures taken of them in the most god awful poses and positions, having people rummaging through their garbage to dig up dirt, etc. The awards (if any) are nice and it's always good to be recognized by your peers and the public, but at what cost to them and possibly to their family. I can't imagine how awful that part of fame is.

I would hate being imposed on in that manner. It comes down to the individual. There are those that love every aspect of that type of life. They are the ones we read about.

The fame thing goes both ways. I don't think all celebrities get stalked to the level you describe. And the ones who do...well, a lot of them kinda want it both ways. They do outrageous things to gain the interest, and then when they have the interest, they get ticked off because some poor schmuck photographer can make a buck off of them. It's usually the celebs that have the strong need to be the center of attention who are targeted. But to be honest, I think some of them are just asking for it...think Lindsey, Britney, Jessica. It's a double edged sword. They like all the attention on their terms, but when it goes too far, they start to cry. I don't think it's the norm though. There are a lot of really classy celebs out there who aren't stalked to this extent. Meryl Streep, etc. Always photogs, but not too much garbage digging. Celebs love the perks more than they love their privacy. If not, they all have enough money to walk away from it and choose privacy over celebrity. (Think Debra Winger.) I don't think it's that awful. No worse than the rest of us slobs workin' 9 to 5. I wouldn't mind giving up the grind in exchange for a couple of people diggin' through my garbage cans. They are all making WAY too much money!!

For a few years I was a "C" star in Los Angeles and when I was recognized for my work I was always flattered and appreciative. However, it is my belief that the celebs that you would identify as being hounded or intruded upon are actually setting it up. Wouldn't you say Tom Hanks is regarded as one of America's elite? Ever see him being intruded upon? He has season tickets to the King's 10 rows up an the blue line and is at every home game. The awful part of being famous is that they can manipulate the scene to make you feel sorry for them.

I would much rather not be a celebrity. 1. they dont have as much money as you would think and alot of them spend more than they earn based on contracts and sales predictions 2. i am very unphotogenic 3. financial guineses have a much longer lasting influence and they stay rich whether they are popular or not based on their stocks

I'm too much of a personal person when it comes to my family. I would be like one of those celebrities who punches one of the paparazzi. I don't envy them for a second, they can't even hold their marriages together.

Well yeah I want to be famous. My goal in life is to be the worlds greatest game designer, to be able to nail every genre, to be able to satisfy every costumer that buys from me. So the paparazzi can do whatever they please. So, basically what I'm saying is that if you achieve your dreams nothing else really matters.

Sure I could handle it, but it would suck. I have no desire to be a celebrity. But yeah, like you said, the money would be nice.
